Customers say that you can simply apply the product, wait 20 minutes, and scrub it off with a strong brush. We suggest trying to dilute it in water to make it last longer!
As a reminder, Ecochem formed a strategic merger with Earth Smart Solutions in 2013. The former product name was EC-1800, and contains the exact same ingredients.

Earth Smart's Hydrocarbon Cleaner / Degreaser (ESHC) was developed to remove fresh and aged petroleum hydrocarbons from both hard and porous surfaces. Earth Smart Solutions has not tested the effectiveness of ESHC to remove Thompson's Water Seal from wood decks and does not guarantee it's effectiveness when used for this application.
