Ok, you've cleared winter's debris off your lawn.  When you started raking, you approached it like a good scratch--with lots of pressure.  All of a sudden, your rake was full of grass--both dead and alive--and your overambition was evidenced by a bare patch on the ground below your agape mouth.  Your approach, therefore, changed, didn't it?  Your intentions were pure, though.  We know.  After all, the thatch, or the accumulation of undecomposed stems, roots, and other debris, is unhealthy for your lawn when there's too much of it, and spring is the time to address it!  When thatch becomes excessive, the new lawn may root into the thatch rather than into the...
